Ron Claiborne-‘The News Business’

Shaker Pointe is excited to welcome guest speaker, Ronald Claiborne.  Ron, a recently retired American journalist and correspondent for ABC News and Good Morning America will speak on his background in the news business.  Hear his own story on how news works, who & what goes into deciding what’s newsworthy, and the mechanics of putting together a TV news story.  In his first year of retirement Ron has been traveling, teaching, and volunteering.  Learn how he has found joy in retirement and hear his take on the academic aspects facing journalism today.
